Trump should get off the high horse, accept that Iran deserves alot of respect.
The United States President, Donald Trump vows that the U.S must prevail over Iran be it militarily or, on the negotiation table.
However, the Iran crisis was never an issue of dominance in the first place.
By pulling the U.S out of the JCOPOA agreement and seeking military aggression against Iran, it is President Trump himself that has got the U.S in a situation where it has to prove its dominance in the global order. On the 28th of February, president Trump together with Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, launched a brutal military assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This came amidst what seemed like serious negotiations about Iran's nuclear program in Geneva, Switzerland.
Being the treacherous men they are, Netanyahu and Trump shocked the world when midway through the talks, they ordered their respective air forces to rain bombs down on the Islamic Republic, killing almost all of Iran's top command, including their Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
This is what opened the world to the fact that Trump was never here for any deal with Iran. Rather, he was here to fulfill Netanyahu's long time wish of completely collapsing the Iranian regime and bring the country under the U.S- Israeli hegemonic system.
This assault was code named, "Operation Epic Fury".
However, to Trump and Netanyahu's dismay, the Epic Fury ended with Trump desperately seeking for a ceasefire with Iran after 40 days of end to end attacks.
Effectively applying the asymetric war fare strategy, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) disrupted the agressors' treacherous plans by inflicting a great deal of damage on U.S military installations across the Middle East. Mr. Trump embarrassingly failed to achieve what he sought for in his military assault on Iran.
Despite the assassination of almost all its top military command, Iran's regime did not crack a bit.
Iran also did not capitulate to U.S demands. Matter of fact, the war seems to have hardened the Iranians even more than they were before. Infact, given the level of distrust created by the Americans by habitually attacking Iran in the middle of talks, the Iranians also seem to have lost interest in having talks with the treacherous Trump adminstration. After over two months since a ceasefire was announced between the U.S was announced, the Trump administration is yet to get a final agreement with the Iranians.
What the world has seen so far, is a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S and Iran, which hopefully will be a stepping stone towards a final agreement. Yet, this is also on the brink of being shattered by Trump's ego, coupled with the Iranians' more hardened stance on the other hand.
With Trump determined to protect the Superpower status of the United States and the Iranians determined to resist U.S bullying as well, the world seems to be headed towards a very difficult time!
Even after the signing of the MOU where it was agreed that Iran completely reopen the stait of Hormus for free shipping, the Iranians are determined to maintain their control over the strategic water way.
Until now, Iran has firmly ensured that only ships that comply with the IRGC's strict guidelines for navigation of the strait, are allowed through the water way. Those that fail to comply are met with drones and missiles.
This has upset U.S president Donald Trump who vows that he will never let Iran control the strategic waterway.
Important to note is that before the so-called Epic Fury, this water way was free for all! Now, the Iranians have asserted full control over it and vow never to go back to the status quo. They also keep reaffirming that shipping companies will have no choice but to pay a service fee to the Iranians to be ensured of safe passage theough the strait. This of course cannot be accepted by President Trump who obviously does not want to carry the guilt of getting the world into this difficult situation.
U.S secretary of State Marco Rubio, called the Iranians' ambitions of charging ships in the strait of Hormus a fantansy that Iranians should abandon.
In a show of force, the Iranians attacked and damaged a ship that refused to comply with the IRGC's newly set guidelines, which prompted President Trump to order fresh strikes on Iran. The Iranians retaliated by hitting U.S military installations in the Middle East ofcourse, thereby putting the newly singned MOU under jeopardy.
Thus, as the situation currently stands, it looks like President Trump is failing both on the military and diplomatic frontlines.
Before Trump went off the diplomatic course and opted for a violent approach on Iran, the Iranians were a bit flexible.
However, Trump's arrogance of habitually abandoning the negotiation table to strike Iran has innoculated Iranians rather than weaken them.
The Iranians now seem oblivious to U.S power and any little respect they may have had for the U.S seems all but gone.
Therefore, instead of trying so hard to showcase U S.A's might to the Iranians, President Trump should get off the high horse a bit and save what is left of the U.S dominance in the Middle East.
This is because the more the U.S tries to project its military might, the more embarrassment it faces through Iran's repeated retaliations.
However painful it may be, President Trump together with the U.S at large should come to terms with the situation as it stands today and accept that the old Iran is gone. https://amwaldah.blogspot.com/2026/06/trumps-endless-assaults-on-iran-have.html
The U.S and Israel ignorantly got themselves in this complicated situation by assasssinating Iran's old leader, whose age and Spiritual influence kept the IRGC's agressiveness at bay. Now he's gone and he took Iran's patience with him.
Iran is no longer the door-mat of the Middle East. Trump should accept that. The days of U.S hitting and running are over.
Besides, Trump should accept the fact that Iran, is a sovereign state which has a right to develop nuclear energy. Article IV of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons recognizes the "inalienable right" of all state parties to develop research, production, and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination. His demands of zero enrichment are therefore very unrealistic most especially when U.S military might has failed to bring Iranians to their knees.
There is an African proverb that says, "the higher a monkey climbs a tree, the more it exposes its private parts". In this regard, Trump should drop all ambitions of trying to break the Iranians' unbreakable spirit otherwise, he risks going down in history as U.S.A's worst war president of all time and taking the United States dominance in the Middle East down with him.
