U.S-Israel war against Iran: How much longer can the United States clutch onto its aircraft carriers and economic prowess?

The U.S-Israel war against Iran has left the long time perception that the United States is the undisputed global military Superpower badly shattered. For a long time, U.S supremacy has been grounded on its monopoly over violence and destruction in addition to the Americans' reliance on their  European allies for every aggressive mission it undertakes.  For whatever reason however, this time round the U.S traditional allies i.e France, Germany and Britain held back from joining the U.S in its latest military mission in the Middle East. This has left the U.S completely stripped, alone and the reality of its real military standing exposed.  The limits of the Americans' military prowess to help them achieve their goals has also been tested.  The war which has gone on for six months so far, has had the U.S occassionally changing military strategies for the same war, in such a short period!  The U.S has also had to dramatically change misions of the war in this brie...

The U.S intends to maintain the blockade on Iran indifinitely: The U.S is on a self destruction mission.

Sometimes it is better to find an honorable exit out of a failed situation than to keep trying to prove that the situation isn't as bad as it seems. However, the United States of America seems not to be aware of this fact.  Having miserably failed with its latest military assault on Iran, The U.S, instead of swallowing a humble pie and seeking an honorable exit out of the situation, has gone completely gone berzerk.  With their Operation Epic Fury , The U.S and its closest ally Israel believed that with their combined effort, the Islamic Republic of Iran would finally come down and get subdued into accepting the Israel-US hegemony. To their shock however, the Iranians effectively used the asymetric war fare system and put up an unprecedented fight against the aggressors that left the mighty Super power panting for missile interceptors with its ally Israel, curling its tail in fear of more brutal retaliatory attacks from Iran's missiles.  This war has truly shaken the U.S ...

Saudi Arabia should invest in domestically developed military technology.

Saudi Arabia is a very wealthy country, rooted in an estimated $1.389 trillion nominal GDP, anchored primarily by massive petroleum reserves. The country also has a very rich tourism sector that draws over 120 million visitors annually.  This is supported by the country's la ndmark sustainable luxury developments like Diriyah and the Red Sea unique natural and heritage sites. [ 1 , 2 ] Moreso, the country has a st eady stream of pilgrims visiting the religious sites in Mecca and Medina for Umrah and Hajj, not forgetting its massive investment in the events and entertainment sector. However, with all the kingdom's wealth, it is appalling that the country almost entirely depends on foreign aid for its security, science and technology. Sometimes I wonder, why the Saudis fail to invest in domestically developed mega weapons technology!  Did the mental health doctors in their country advise that the Saudi population is not clever enough to learn how to develop their own techn...

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey alliance: Suspicious and dead on arrival.

While most analysts believe that the Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan pact is indeed here to replace the waning United States influence in the Middle East, I firmly stand to differ from this general opinion even if it means standing alone! Using a binoculars, one can clearly see a green snake gliding around in the green grass of this so called security pact.  The green snake is the United States of America! Without going any further, let me state that in my crazy opinion, this pact is in fact meant to save the U.S from completely losing its influence in the Middle East region by trying to cub the shocking military power of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Here is the reality, th e Gulf states have always been blind believers in America's unmatched power.  They gave out big chunks of land to the U.S to set up large military bases in their countries with the belief that in case of aggression, the invincible U.S will protect them.  Infact, these wealthy Arabs had began to loo...

Saudi Arabia sleeps in a glass house. The Saudis should not throw stones at their neighbors.

It is simple as it is: Saudi Arabia has so much to lose in the event that it is engaged in war with any of its adversaries. For its own good, the wealthy kingdom should not participate in the "monkey-dance." For all its glamour and excellent economic progress, Saudi Arabia should not even be thinking of engaging in a war with Houthi militants who have nothing to lose.  If Yemen and Saudi Arabia were  houses, we would say that the Houthi reside in a grass thatched house while Saudi Arabia resides in a glass house. The Saudis and Houthi fighters have technically been at war for the past eleven years, which culminated into a Saudi imposed blockade on Yemen's land, sea boarders and skies.  This came after the Houthis attacked Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with ballistic missiles in 2015. In the seemingly renewed military escalation between Saudi Arabia and the Iran backed Yemeni fighters, the Houthi's message to Saudi Arabia is clear: lift the unfair blockade, stop...

Iran's Elusive Supreme Leader: But who is Mojtabah Khamenei?

Image
The thing is that we all know that Mojtabah Khamenei is the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son and his successor. Yes, he's apparently the current Supreme leader of Iran.  However, no one has seen this gentleman in public since he was rumored to have survived the heavy bombing that killed his father and a good number of his closest family.           Picture of Iran's Elusive leader: Mojtabah Khamenei. The world was eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of the new Supreme leader during his father's burial, only for the 7 day event to go by without sight of him!  The only person in Iran's government who claims to have met him since he was selected as the new ruler of Iran, is the country's president  Masoud Pezeshkian.  There is however no way to certify the authenticity of his claim.  One major actor in Iran's government is foreign affairs minister Abbas Aragchi. Given the nature of his job, he is one of the chief representatives of Iran durin...

MTN AND AIRTEL UGANDA: ADVOCATING FOR A CHANGE IN DATA TARIF POLICY.

I don't know whether "expiry on subscription" is the international data pricing policy save  for special data bundles like Freedom bundles for MTN and Chillax bundles for Airtel users in Uganda.  I personally find this policy very unfairly costly on the side of the consumer and I believe lots of other people would agree with me if they were given a chance to speak up. I stand to be guided on this matter but it really baffles me why it has to be this way!  I believe data bundles are no different from airtime recharge. Same thing, different purposes! Why is it that when it comes to airtime, recharge depends on one's usage yet when it comes to data tarifs, bundles expire when subscription time expires? Under this data policy, it does not matter whether one has utilised all the MBs they subscribed for or not, the data just expires when the time subscribed for expires.  This policy surely hinders a customer's right to get value for their money!  Here is the thing: In...

Saudi Arabia has fallen for Iran's trap

The world is currently witnessing a last-ditch war of the United States of America together with Israel, against the Islamic Republic of Iran.  For 47 years since the Iranians ousted an American backed leader that is : Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, the Americans and Israelis have been itching to attack Iran someday and either destroy it or take the endowed country back into their hegemonic control. Since the inception of the Islamic regime, Iran has faced global isolation and sanctions at the hand of Americans and their allies. Furthermore, the country has faced  regular attacks on its interests in the region by the Israelis. All this, with a purpose of laying the foundation of a major and final blow to the Islamic Republic.  The dream finally came true for the U.S and Israel  when on the 28th of February 2026, the two countries launched a joint  brutal military operation against Iran.  This, they named, " Operation Epic Fury ."  The Americans and Israe...

No more open ballots for LC 1 chairpersons please!

As our country Uganda gears up for the next round of LC1 chairperson elections on the 28th of June 2026, the nationals are obviously excited after spending a long time without voting for these leaders who are the main representatives of  the common man in our system of governance. However, it is sadly becoming a norm that the voting system for these most important leaders is the open ballot system where voters have to line behind the candidate of their choice. I am calling it sad because of the vast number of disadvantages of this voting method. An open ballot is a system of voting where the choice of the voter is known to others, rather than being kept secret.  While it is obviously cost friendly, it carries several significant disadvantages in modern democratic contexts. LC.1 chairpersons are the closest leaders to the population. Hence, we technically vote for people who we most probably know on a personal basis and likewise, the candidates usually know their voters on a pe...
